Dear Pegasus Supporters,
I trust that your Holiday Season is going well!
I wanted to thank you for a wonderful 2023! Working with so many of our program folks, funders, and grantees, has been a joy!
I am departing as Executive Director at the end of the year to return to my other professional identity as a Historian.
For the past 20 years, I’ve juggled my life as wife, mother, author/historian, and nonprofit executive at four organizations with missions in marine conservation, land preservation, wildlife rehabilitation, and finally, at The Pegasus Foundation. As much as I have loved this job, I have several projects and history books to finish in the sub-fields of natural history, science, and maritime history, which I've long ignored. It’s the right timeframe in my life to focus on just ‘one professional thing,’ especially as I age!
I’ll remain as an Advisor to the Everglades Animal Coalition (EAC) and will keep close ties to the issues which concern us all: the safety and health of wild and domestic animals, and their environments.
Thank you to David and Barbara Birdsey, Founders of The Pegasus Foundation, who entrusted the care of this organization to me over these many months. I’m grateful to the Birdsey’s, as well as to the Board of Directors, and to my team at Pegasus—Cindy, Lydia, Mandy, and Calvin—who have made this incredible journey with me.
Happy New Year and best wishes for a safe and healthy 2024!
Theresa Mitchell Webster
