Our Mission

The Pegasus Foundation improves animal welfare through effective grant making and education in the United States, the Caribbean, Native American lands and Kenya.

Caring Fields Animal Sanctuary

The mission of Caring Fields is to provide a safe place for the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of equines and cats in need; and through education, promote a more compassionate world.  For more information, please visit the website:  www.CaringFields.org.

Companion Animal Memorial Brick Program

News and Upcoming Events

Hurricane Season is here.  Do you have a disaster plan for your pets?  Click here for helpful information for before, during and after a disaster.

Kitty lovers filled the Education Center at Caring Fields Animal Sanctuary to support the 2nd Annual Hobe Sound Animal Protection League Baby Shower.  Many were searching for that special kitten to warm their hearts, some were coming to see the facility for the first time, and some came to support the efforts of HSAPL.  At the end of the day 11 beautiful kittens found their forever homes.  Every attendee brought a gift for the cats and kittens in HSAPL's care, which generously amounted to 100 cans of kitten food, 392 cans of adult food, 215 pounds of dry food, 193 pounds of clumping litter, and several toys, throw, beds, and Advantage flea treatment.  There were also over $4,000 in donations that will go toward the needs of the cats and kittens in care of HSAPL as well as the spay and neuter program, Operation Catsnip.

Line

It is the policy of the Pegasus Foundation to no longer use language that accepts the current concept of animals as property, commodities and/or things.  Rather than refer to ourselves or others as owners of animals we share our lives with, we now refer to ourselves and others as guardians of our animal friends and to animals as he or she rather than it.  Guardians do not buy or sell animals; instead they rescue and adopt.  We urge you to do the same.
